Enterprise Farm
Dave Jackson has owned and operated Enterprise Farm for 25 years. Dave lives at the farm with his wife Ainsley and two sons Cal and Asa. At Enterprise Farm there are 4 full time employees and 12 seasonal workers, they are considered members of the extended family. Some have devoted over 10 years of time, and each individual brings something unique to the farm. Thanks to their year-round farm share program they are able to employ several members of the crew throughout the winter -- no small feat for a New England farm!
At Enterprise Farms, conservation and environmental integrity form the basis of their farming philosophy. After 25 years, they still adhere to the key principles of crop rotation and soil fertility management. They grow on 75 acres and ten different field locations, and rotate their crops on a five year plan. They believe that this system creates the lowest impact on the environment, maintains soil fertility, and brings you tasty and healthy veggies year after year. It is their belief that they have a part to play in creating a more sustainable food system, and that growing organic crops is only one aspect to that part.
Put simply,"the food distribution system in our country is broken, and with your help we can take a proactive role in fixing it." |
